Use of the Platform
ED Library provides learning spaces, digital library spaces, resources, and platform tools for learning, assessment, student and learner records, books, certificate generation, subscriptions, and payments for schools, training centres, authors, instructors, learners, and approved organisation staff. By using the platform or application, every user agrees to use their account only for lawful educational and administrative purposes.
Organisation and Domain Access
Each organisation or subscriber is responsible for managing users, granting permissions, learning content, library content, student or learner records, fee collection, and certificates connected to its approved domain. Users must sign in through the correct organisation domain unless they have been expressly authorised by the platform admin to provide support.
Accounts, Approval, and Security
New users may be required to register with an invite code issued by an authorised organisation admin or platform admin. Invite codes are intended for the named organisation or domain and may be single-use, time-limited, and subject to approval. We may suspend or reject accounts where registration details are false, incomplete, unauthorised, or abusive.
For enhanced security, this platform supports multi-factor authentication (MFA). All users are strongly encouraged to enable at least one additional authentication factor when signing in for improved account security.
By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that deleting your account removes your account profile and current course, book and coding access, but does not automatically erase institutional academic history. Academic records, assessment results and certificates are retained separately to verify qualifications, provide transcripts and meet applicable educational record-keeping duties. Each organisation or institution is responsible for deciding whether to retain or delete those records in accordance with the laws of its country or region, retaining only information necessary for a lawful purpose and only for the applicable retention period. This acknowledgement does not waive your statutory privacy or deletion rights. Contact your institution for its retention periods and to exercise those rights.
You can delete your account using My Account > Delete My Account on the dashboard or in the mobile app by providing your username, email and reason. Deletion is permanent and does not require administrator approval. Administrators responsible for institutional content or the last administrator account must first arrange a successor where necessary to preserve other users' access. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Apple or Google.
Learning Content, Books, and Records
Organisations, subscribers, instructors, and authors remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality, and suitability of learning materials, books, uploaded files, student or learner records, certificate generation, images, videos, and any other content they add to the platform. Content must not infringe third-party rights, expose confidential information, or be shared outside authorised users.
Published Courses, Books, and Author Rights After Account Deletion
By accepting these Terms and publishing content that you own or are authorised to license, you agree that deleting your account does not delete published courses, published books or other learners' academic history. Course management transfers to an active organisation superadmin so enrolled learners retain their courses, results and academic records. This administrative transfer does not itself transfer copyright.
Published books remain in the organisation library after an instructor or author deletes their account, with the original author attribution unchanged. Other learners retain their existing purchased or free-book access while the book remains available. The author remains credited as author; account deletion does not assign copyright to ED Library or the organisation. Published author attribution is retained separately from the deleted account profile.
The author agrees to negotiate in good faith with the organisation for a one-off payment and a written licence allowing the book to remain available in the organisation domain. The parties must agree the amount, permitted uses, duration and payment terms; accepting these Terms does not mean a payment amount or a separate licence has already been agreed. Existing publishing agreements and applicable copyright law continue to apply.
If no agreement is reached, the administrator must remove the book from the organisation library so it is no longer offered to new readers, purchasers or borrowers. Removal withdraws the catalogue listing rather than destroying copies required for existing purchasers. Buyers retain access through their personal library, with the original author attribution, after withdrawal and after the author's account deletion. To the extent you hold the necessary rights, you grant the organisation and ED Library the continuing non-exclusive permission needed to store and deliver the purchased book to those existing buyers. This permission survives account deletion and catalogue withdrawal and does not authorise new sales or general distribution after withdrawal. Free access is preserved when the author deletes their account, but does not confer a purchased-copy entitlement if the organisation later withdraws the book.
The organisation and author must document their agreement and honour applicable copyright, education, consumer and privacy laws. These provisions do not override a binding legal removal requirement or grant rights that the publisher does not own. Deleting a buyer's own account removes that buyer's account-based library access as described in the account-deletion provisions.
Payments, Subscriptions, and Fees
Subscription payments, school fees, book purchases, book borrowing, taxes, discounts, and currency conversions are processed according to the selected plan, payment provider, and applicable regional settings. Card and bank details are handled by the selected payment provider and are not stored by ED Library. Payment access may be delayed, declined, reversed, or suspended where a provider, bank, or compliance check requires it.
Availability and Administrative Actions
ED Library may update features, apply maintenance, correct errors, restrict access, remove harmful content, or suspend an organisation or user account where required for security, payment failure, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or protection of other users. Reasonable effort will be made to preserve legitimate records and minimise disruption.
Acceptable Use
Users must not attempt to bypass access controls, scrape private data, misuse invite links, interfere with payment processing, upload malicious files, impersonate another person, or access an organisation domain without permission. Violations may lead to account restriction, removal of content, cancellation of access, or legal action.
Changes and Contact
These terms may be updated as the platform, payment rules, legal requirements, or supported regions change. Continued use of ED Library after an update means the current terms apply. Questions about these terms should be sent through the official platform support or organisation support channel.
